At about 38 pounds, this Heeler/Staffy mix may not take up much space physically, but she’s got enough personality and energy to fill an entire house!
Bindy is a fun, spirited girl looking for an active adopter who understands the exercise, enrichment, and structure that come with a high-energy working breed. Experience with Heelers or other herding breeds is a plus!
This girl was born to RUN! Daily walks alone won’t cut it. Bindy needs a securely fenced, open space where she can run, chase toys, and burn off energy. Her foster family has found that she does best with two good, active play sessions each day.
But here’s the best part: Bindy has a wonderful off-switch! Once her exercise needs are met, she’s perfectly happy to curl up next to her person for a TV session or lounge on the couch with a beef cheek chew, pig ear, or Benebone. She can happily entertain herself, too!
She’s smart and eager to please! Bindy learned fetch with a Chuckit! ball in just two sessions! She’s treat motivated, but praise and affection really make her light up. She gets so excited and proud of herself when she’s told she’s a good girl!
Bindy is dog-friendly, but her play style isn’t for everyone. She loves rough-and-tumble, chase-heavy, herding-style play and can be intense for more laid-back dogs. A playful, more submissive canine companion who can match her energy would be her ideal buddy.
Like many Heelers, Bindy is also quite mouthy. She may nip during play or when seeking attention, so her adopter should be comfortable redirecting this behavior and teaching appropriate boundaries. Kids ages 10+ would be the best fit.
Bindy loves car rides and giving kisses. She walks pretty well on a leash and responds to redirection, plus she has exceptional recall! At night, she sleeps peacefully in her crate.
Bindy does best with regular potty breaks, so someone who works from home or can come home midday would be ideal. She hasn’t been cat tested, and a home without livestock would likely be best.
Bindy has completed her vet care (spay, vaccines, microchip) and cannot wait to meet you! Her adoption fee is $250. If you’re interested in adopting, please submit an application at savedbyfate.org and we’ll be in touch ASAP!
A meet with any approved applicant’s current pets and entire family will be required prior to starting the 2-week adoption trial period.
