At just 2 years old, Shadow has already faced more than most dogs ever should… but you’d never know it by the way he greets the world—with a wagging tail and a heart full of love.
Shadow’s past includes being shot, hit by a car, and left chained outside when his previous owner went to prison. Despite everything, he has held onto his gentle, happy-go-lucky spirit—and it’s truly something special.
He recently underwent a femoral head ostectomy (FHO) to repair his right hip and is on the road to recovery. We’re hopeful this surgery will also help ease the discomfort in his arthritic knee. What he needs now is a soft place to land and a family who will continue cheering him on as he heals.
Shadow absolutely adores people—big, small, and everyone in between. He’s the kind of dog who just wants to be near his humans, soaking up love and giving it right back. He could thrive as a family companion and would do great in a home where he can be part of everyday life.
He can be selective with other dogs, so proper introductions are important, and he will need a cat-free home.
