If you’re searching for a low-key best friend who just wants to be near his people, Boudreaux may be your perfect match.
This handsome guy has an incredibly laid-back personality and takes life exactly as it comes. He’s gentle, quiet, calm, curious, and one of the easiest dogs to have around. In foster care, he hasn’t barked or whined once—he simply settles in and goes with the flow.
Boudreaux is wonderfully social and non-reactive. He’s done fantastic with other dogs and cats, showing excellent manners and zero resource guarding. Toys, treats, food bowls? He shares space respectfully and doesn’t mind humans handling his things. He’s also reportedly done very well with children and has the sweet, easygoing personality to make a wonderful family companion.
One of Boudreaux’s favorite places? His crate. This boy LOVES his cozy setup (especially if it includes a blanket for nesting and a few treats). He happily relaxes there and would make an elite couch buddy—sleeping is one of his favorite hobbies! He enjoys little bursts of play but overall prefers a calm lifestyle.
Boudreaux walks okay on leash and is gaining confidence every day, but he’s still learning the basics. In many ways, he’s a blank slate who appears to have never been taught foundational manners before arriving in foster care. He’s extremely food motivated (which makes training easier!) but can become fixated on food and benefits from structure around meals, boundaries, and consistency. He’s currently working on patience, impulse control, and commands like sit—and he’s making great progress.
Because of his size, strength, and determined personality, Boudreaux would thrive with an adopter who can provide calm, consistent leadership and continue reinforcing household manners.
One important thing to know: Boudreaux has experienced seizures in the past. He was previously trialed on medication but had an adverse reaction and is not currently receiving seizure medication. We can discuss his history in more detail with interested adopters so they can make an informed decision and ensure the best fit.
Boudreaux would do well with dogs, cats, or as your one-and-only companion. Whether you’re looking for a family dog or a loyal sidekick, this resilient boy has so much love to give.
Boudreaux has completed his vet care (neuter, vaccines, microchip) and is ready to go to his forever home as soon as he finds his humans! His adoption fee is FULLY SPONSORED ($0). If you're interested in adopting, please submit an application at savedbyfate.org and we'll be in touch ASAP!
A meet with any approved applicant's current pets and entire family will be required prior to starting the 2-week adoption trial period.
