Astra is a sweet, sensitive puppy who may be a little timid and submissive when she first meets new people or dogs, but give her a little time to feel safe and her playful, affectionate personality quickly starts to shine.
Once she’s comfortable, Astra loves to play—especially if running is involved! She has a blast chasing and being chased by other dogs, playing with sticks, and zooming around the yard. She’s also great at entertaining herself with chew toys and food puzzles when playtime is over.
Astra is incredibly affectionate and loves being close to her people. When she first arrived in foster care, she wanted to be right by her foster mom’s side at all times, but as her confidence has grown, she’s becoming much more independent. She’s smart, eager to please, and continues to blossom as she learns that the world isn’t such a scary place.
She is well housebroken and sleeps through the night. Astra keeps her crate clean, although she may cry when left alone in it, so her future family should be willing to continue helping her become more comfortable with alone time.
Astra would likely love a home with another playful dog—especially one who enjoys running as much as she does—but she could also be perfectly happy as an only dog getting all of her family’s attention. While she isn’t aggressive toward cats, she does enjoy chasing small animals, so a home with a timid cat may not be the best fit.
One more bonus: Astra is a pretty quiet girl and rarely barks!
