Hi, I'm Malcolm, but my foster family calls me Mally or Maui. I have been with them for about a month after my foster mom found me in a very overcrowded and underfunded EKY shelter. I had severe kennel cough and a nasty ear infection and needed some groceries, but I am much healthier and happier now!
I weigh about 62 pounds and am lower to the ground than it appears in photos. The vet said I was likely 7-8 years old, but I am a lively old dude. I really like to take short little zoomy runs around the yard and play with other dogs, but then I want to lay on the couch for a while. I really like little kids and can hug them roughly, but I live with a 2-year-old and a 7-year-old and have only knocked the smaller one over once. I am very calm in the house unless I have a dog friend who wants to play. Like most older men, I can vocalize my wants and needs but quiet down when someone tells me to. If you want, I will howl and sing when you say what a good boy I am. I also can't hear super well, and my foster mom is curious if it is selective or not.... I had a terrible ear infection when I came to her.
I really like to go for walks and smell all the smells, but my favorite thing is putting my entire large self in your lap. I am potty trained and will let you know when I need to go outside. I tolerate baths and crates and can sit, lay down, and shake. I like other dogs and seem interested in cats.
